He then ask if we are the 6:30 riders and we let him know that we were scheduled at 5:45 and had been waiting. The next carriage shows up and the driver puts a group of people on the carriage before us that had only been waiting 5 minutes. Finally a carriage shows up and she tells us that our carriage will be there shortly. We waited 40-45 minutes for our carriage ride. We show up about 10 minutes early to our scheduled departure time.
My kids love horses so we booked the private carriage ride and we booked the 1 hour beach ride with photos. I definitely would recommend Golden Isles Carriage Trails! Thanks Tammy for all the fun! The Easter Egg Girls! Although the photographer was extremely nice. I was expecting pictures on the beach out away from others. I had ridden horses some in my younger days and still found this ride exhilarating! If we had more time, we would have come back to have ridden privately so we could have galloped on the beach! My sister and I bought the photo package and I wouldn't do that again as the pictures were only made in two locations: not far from the corral and as you got on the beach and there were other people in the background.
All the horses were well behaved and beautiful. I rode Reba and my sister rode Dancer on our trip out to Driftwood Beach.
There were seven people in our group from a young child to an older couple with mobility issues and all seemed so happy at the end of the ride. There was a platform with steps to make mounting easier and the staff was assisting to assure everyone's safety and that they were comfortable in the saddle. Her friendliness along with the rest of the staffs good nature made everyone at ease, even the mom who had never ridden and was concerned with her daughter. My sister and I are in our 60s and we couldn't stop smiling the whole ride! Tammy was our guide and she was very competent in her job, making sure everyone had a horse to match their size and that the horses all stayed together on the trail and everyone felt secure and was having a good time.
